Our save the dates are finally fluttering out into the world- or at least camping overnight at the 38th Street USPS Office near work. And that means we had to put the finishing touches on our wedding website so our guests found something better than godaddy.com jibberish when they typed the following into their browser:
Look! It's clickable!
I'm pretty darn proud of myself for this little project. We used iWeb so that I could just go for it and get all designy up in here. Then we published, found inevitable glitches resulting from not designing in html, and Marc fixed them up. We found that it still looks funky on my Droid and in Firefox, but what are ya gonna do. Maybe we'll seek perfection when we [Marc] have[s] some free time [never… stupid lawyering].
Now I'm just trying to regain control of my wedding planning sanity. I've been awol lately because I've been traveling [legit reason] and dealing with nightmares that the priest and rabbi don't show up, cheating on my dress, and adding maids of honor, feeling overall wedding planning fail [irrelevant reasons not to blog- rather reasons TO blog]. But our family and friends will be checking out our website now, marking the date in their calendars, booking hotel rooms if necessary, and it's ON! I mean, there's no turning back now! Well technically, sure. But you get it, right? They'll have our little letterpressed beauties in their hands, getting all kinds of ideas about what our day will look and feel like based on the design and vibe of the save-the-date, working up big beautiful expectations for what my family and I will pull together.
So cool, right!??! And so a wake-up call. Time to make some more decisions- bridesmaids dresses; honeymoon; groomsmen- not just tuxes, the men themselves; all the details of the ceremony unless the clergy forget to come of course; shoesveilmakeuphairootbagsbathroombasketsinvitationsescortcardsguestbookmakinglistsofstufftodo!
Is this the 6-7months out normal reaction? No more fail, only win, losing time! Or maybe this is just my natural reaction because I'm finally way under 2+ years out. Regardless, here we go!
