Obviously, we've been engaged for 21 months, so these are not for the purposes of announcing our engagement. We're just celebrating this somewhat short-lived time in our lives that will be over before we know it. They're just called engagement pictures. I suppose we'll use them for our guest book.
Round 1: The sign, a blue door, and a corner near our apartment…
It was imperative since the day we moved here that we get engagement pictures in front of this zany sign. (We weren't engaged yet). I know we're small in them, but it's really more about the sign than us.
Then we found this blue door we didn't know what to do with:
look, we're in the door frame! arty, right??
are you…. looking straight at the camera and… smiling?
awesome
here, I admit door failure and skeedaddle outta there. I still think I was onto something.
And finally, for the traditionalists:
communication breakdown…. standby….
communication breakdown…. GO!
This whole shebang took about 20 minutes. Honestly not too bad for being stressed out and unprepared, if I do say so. Duane did an amazing job. Thanks Duane!!! (He also does headshots and weddings- although we chose to give him a break on our wedding day and let him be the guest with an affinity for photographing).
I leave you with the owl outside our window, and our comically unpracticed dip in front of the Chinese I Love You Stainless Steel sign:
caaar!!
Do these pictures bode poorly for our future engagement session back home? Did anyone else have to shake out the sillies a few times before they could get some worthy photos?
